Are you, or do you know, a woman aged 65-85 years old?

Research Study seeking older women with hypertension:

Chronic Lower Leg Heating for the Treatment of Hypertension in Older Women

Qualifications for this research study are:

  • You have high blood pressure (140-179/90-109 mmHg) but otherwise healthy
  • You are not taking hormone replacement treatment
  • You want to know if lower leg heating in combination with the drug treatment lowers blood pressure more effectively than the drug treatment alone

Volunteers will receive:

  • Comprehensive assessment of blood pressure
  • Assessment of heart and blood vessel function
  • Monetary compensation for study participation

Menopause Study

(IRB# STU 032018-052)

Are you, or do you know, a woman aged 60-70 years old?

Research study seeking older women who had natural (non-surgical) menopause:

Influence of early menopause on sympathetic activation and cardiovascular function in older women.

Qualifications for this research study are:

  • Had early menopause transition (age 40-45 years) or normal menopause transition (age 50-55 years)
  • Without high blood pressure, Diabetes, and cardiovascular disease
  • Without any other major health problems
  • Are not currently on hormone replacement treatment

Volunteers will receive:

  • Comprehensive assessment of blood pressure
  • Assessment of heart and blood vessel function
  • Monetary compensation for study participation

Study procedures include:

  • Evaluation of your heart and blood vessel function
  • 2 weeks of dietary supplementation (beetroot juice)

Pregnancy Study

Planning a Pregnancy or Currently Pregnant?

If so, you may be eligible to participate in a study that examines how blood pressure is regulated throughout your pregnancy:

Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Pregnancy

Qualifications for this research study are:

  • Currently (10 weeks or less) pregnant or planning to become pregnant
  • Be generally healthy
  • Not planning to use fertility treatments
  • Be a non-smoker

You will be compensated for your participation.
