Thank you for your interest in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton.

The Mission of Texas Health is to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve. Launching an Internal Medicine Residency Program at Texas Health HEB and Texas Health Denton accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education will help us fulfill our Mission by training physicians while serving patients. These internal medicine programs will have a total of 60 residents divided into two cohorts, one at each hospital. These campuses truly embrace the commitment to excel in graduate medical education (GME). A recently built educational space for GME is ready for the first class of residents at each hospital, and excitement abounds in our institution as we prepare for a successful academic year.

Our program offers a comprehensive inpatient and ambulatory curriculum that follows the blueprint of the American Board of Internal Medicine exam. Faculty and residents interact in medical education that is meant to inspire a dedication to active, life-long learning. The model we use in scheduling rotations for our residents avoids disruption of training and helps to promote continuity of care by using a “4+1” schedule, meaning residents complete four weeks of inpatient care or an elective, alternating with one week in the ambulatory clinic.

A friendly working environment is a hallmark of Texas Health. The system has been recognized for the seventh consecutive year as one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For®. That extends to residencies, as well, as a friendly academic environment welcomes our first class of residents.

In training the medical leaders of tomorrow, Texas Health also has committed to offering specialized educational programs for those interested in becoming clinician-educators or teaching faculty leaders after graduation.

Living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area provides access to a diverse, world-class Metroplex with myriad living and recreational opportunities, access to any destination worldwide via the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, and a lifestyle that has companies and individuals locating here from areas across the country. Explore the many restaurants, museums, sporting events, trails and lakes North Texas has to offer, and enjoy playing your favorite sport with your faculty and peers through the residents’ wellness program.

We hope that you consider the internal medicine programs at Texas Health HEB and Texas Health Denton for your residency training, and that you will apply through ERAS and NRMP match.

I look forward to hearing from you. Good luck!

Sincerely,

Enrique Rincon, M.D., FACP, MSMEd
