Train here. This is why.
The Internal Medicine Residency Program at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is training physicians to practice medicine now and in the future. Accepting its first cohort in 2022, this program builds upon the commitment to care established by Texas Health Resources, the highest-ranked health system in the U.S. on Fortune’s 2021 100 Best Companies to Work For® list.
This program offers a unique experience for residents. Here’s how:
New program. The Internal Medicine Residency Program at Texas Health Fort Worth provides training for how doctors will practice in the future, unencumbered by how education has been conducted for physicians in the past. In the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Texas Health Fort Worth, residents will not be on call, and will be trained in a “4+2” schedule format with dedicated sub-specialty and ambulatory experiences and progressive responsibility in inpatient and outpatient settings in a supportive environment in which they can learn, grow and develop as physicians and people.
Commitment to wellness. Our residents’ health and well-being is our priority. Residents have four weeks of vacation time and regularly scheduled administrative days to attend to healthcare needs, catch up on administrative paperwork and advance scholarly activity. Residents also have the opportunity to become a certified expert in physician well-being through the Clinician Experience Project.
Experienced leadership team and faculty. With more than 30 combined years of academic medical education experience, program leaders and faculty are dedicated to offering residents the rotations, clinical experiences and opportunities to help them begin practice or match into a competitive fellowship.
Focus on quality improvement and high-value care. Beginning in the first year, residents have dedicated time to earn the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s basic certificate in quality and safety. Residents then partner with mentors and nurse leaders to conduct and lead longitudinal quality improvement projects, with funding available to present regionally or nationally.
Your education is our priority. With dedicated academic half-days, weekly board review, and faculty who are passionate about teaching and ample elective time to craft the path for the future you choose, you can begin a successful career at Texas Health Fort Worth.

The curriculum for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Texas Health Fort Worth provides residents with comprehensive exposure to all aspects of internal medicine.
