Welcome and thank you for your interest in our General Surgery Residency Program, a five-year program offering training to fifteen surgical residents. We are committed to providing surgery residents excellent training to become extraordinary surgeons who are leaders in their practice. Our mission is to graduate thoughtful, competent, and compassionate surgeons who can contribute positively to any surgical specialty upon graduation. This will be achieved in many ways. First, training will include educating residents on evidence-based practice, not only by ongoing journal club activities, during which time critical thinking will be stressed, but also by engaging them in research of their own in which they will find answers to their own medical questions. Secondly, the program will ensure variety and versatility as it relates to rotations offered and to selected faculty that allows for exposure to multiple cases using various approaches to complete these cases. Lastly, the program will demonstrate, by example, the value in compassionate care by emphasizing multidisciplinary team building and incorporating strong spiritual foundations to support residents as they develop themselves outside of the operating room and hospital.

I invite you to continue reviewing the information provided which includes our faculty, curriculum, and how to apply to our program.
