Meet the Team

Texas Health EAP counselors have at least a mental health counseling or social work masters’ degree, are licensed mental health providers in the State of Texas, and on average the team has over 20+ years of clinical experience.  Our diverse training backgrounds, credentials, and clinical experiences, as well as our focus on providing culturally sensitive and LGBTQIA+ affirming support, help us meet the varied needs of our clients. EAP counselors adhere to their professional Code of Ethics in connection with their respective licensing board and Sate of Texas legal mandates.

    Debbie H., Licensed Psychologist

    Debbie, EAPDebbie is a Licensed Psychologist with expertise in clinical psychology. In 2002, Dr. Hillard earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.). Dr. Hillard was the former Director of the Johns Hopkins University/Johns Hopkins Hospital Employee Assistance Program where she functioned both as an Administrator and Clinician from 2002-2010. Dr. Hillard is responsible to launching the internal-based Texas Health EAP in 2016 and has been managing the program since that time. The majority of Dr. Hillard’s career has been related to employee assistance program services and clinical/forensic assessments including fitness for duty, pre-employment, workplace violence and risk assessment evaluations. Her clinical experiences range from inpatient mental health, outpatient counseling and working with incarcerated individuals. She has performed over 3,000 public-safety evaluations over the course of her career and areas of specialization include practice ethics, diagnostic assessment, healthcare provider wellness and outreach/prevention strategies.

    Jessica B., Licensed Clinical Social Worker

    Jessica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 11 years of clinical experience. Prior to joining the EAP team in 2021, Jessica worked in a variety of settings, including acute care, victim advocacy, crisis intervention, private practice, and program development. Jessica has experience supporting adults, adolescents, and couples through a wide range of issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, grief, burnout, and life transitions. Jessica uses a collaborative therapeutic approach that is grounded in evidence-based practices and emphasizes compassion, mindfulness, and empowerment.  She is certified in many areas including, but not limited to, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Attachment Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy.

    Chiara E., Licensed Clinical Social Work, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor


    Chiara, EAPChiara is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with 17 years of clinical experience. Chiara has been employed with EAP since 2016 and brings experience from roles within inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, domestic violence shelters, mobile crisis units, and residential rehabilitation facilities for addiction. Chiara has experience working with adults, children, and couples on a wide variety of issues including anxiety, depression, stress management, burnout, grief, domestic violence, and work-life balance.

    Chiara utilizes an integrative approach to counseling combining short-term, solution-focused techniques with person-centered and cognitive-behavior therapy techniques to assist a wide range of individuals develop new skills, or reconfigure their existing skills, to manage and reduce overwhelming thoughts and emotions.

    Susan L., Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist


    Susan, EAPSusan is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 11 years of clinical experience. Prior to joining the EAP in 2022, Susan provided guidance to individuals, couples, and groups with the use of Solution-Focused Therapy approach. She has worked with both acute and chronic mental health issues within a variety of settings (inpatient, outpatient, jail health, crisis stabilization and community health).

    Jodi M., Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, Board Certified Registered Art Therapist


    Jodie, EAPJodi is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and a Bord Certified Art Therapist with 20 years of clinical experience. Prior to joining the EAP in 2022, Jodi supported diverse clients through individual and group therapy, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Jodi enjoys working with adults, children, and families on a wide variety of issues including LGBTQIA issues, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, burnout, and grief. Jodi utilizes a whole-person approach to counseling, combining techniques that address the mind, body, and spirit.

    Timothy P., Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor


    Timothy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. Timothy joined the EAP team in 2022 and brings 8 years of clinical experience from roles within adult inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, mobile crisis, and addiction-based residential rehabilitation facilities. Timothy has experience working with adults and health care professionals with various mental health and substance use concerns. Timothy uses interventions such as Mindfulness Based Self Compassion, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapies to support a client’s personal goals.

    Stephanie R., Licensed Master’s Social Worker, Nationally Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach


    Stephanie, EAPStephanie is a Licensed Master’s Social Worker and Nationally Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach. Stephanie joined the EAP team in 2023 and brings over 10 years of clinical experience from roles within adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient community mental health treatment facilities, crisis intervention units, and virtual mental health counseling and coaching. she has experience working with adults and adolescents with a wide variety of issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, stress management, physical illness, grief, major life changes, marriage, parenting, communication, boundaries, and work/life balance.

    Stephanie utilizes a collaborative, solution-focused, strengths-based approach to counseling through motivational interviewing strategies, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychoeducation to help individuals overcome hardships, explore unique ways to work through barriers and identify strengths and motivations to work towards goals, implement positive behavior change, and improve overall wellbeing.

    Robert H., Licensed Master Social Worker

    Robert, EAPRobert is a Licensed Master Social Worker with 14 years of clinical experience. He has been employed with Texas Health since 2014. Robert joined the Texas Health EAP in 2021 in the role of Wellness Counselor. Rather than seeing individual counseling clients, Robert’s work focuses on raising awareness about EAP services and empowering employees to utilize EAP to assist with life challenges. Robert’s goal is to reduce the stigma associated with mental health and provide resources to improve employee wellness and self-care. Robert is often seen onsite at the various Texas Health entities providing education, outreach, and support to Texas Health employees through rounding, conducting presentations and facilitating Critical Incident Stress Management groups following a critical incident.

    Jamie W., Licensed Master Social Worker

    Jamie, EAPJamie is a Licensed Master Social Worker with 2 years of clinical experience. Before joining the Texas Health EAP team in 2022, Jamie spent 10 years working in community behavioral health. In her role as Wellness Counselor, Jamie has enjoyed meeting and serving Texas Health staff from all corners of the Metroplex. Jamie’s focus is on prevention and outreach, most days she is traveling to different Texas Health entities spreading the word about EAP services and wellbeing strategies and providing real-time support to staff. Her favorite thing about working for Texas Health is seeing the Promise behaviors in action while visiting with employees and leaders.
